MEET ROSE, THe Glitter Goddess...
Q How long have you been stocked at Bon Fortune? How did you first find the store?
A I have been in Bon Fortune since a couple weeks after it opened. So pretty much from the start. My husband and I went to the La Conchita annual town garage sale. We didn’t find too much to buy, so we took a drive to Carp. We went wandering around town and saw Bon Fortune. It wasn't open at the time, so we came back later and fell in love with the place. We were walking around the store and my husband and I both said out loud, this reminds us of stuff I would make. Gina heard us and asked what I made. The rest is history.
Q What has been your most memorable experience working with Bon Fortune?
A I think making 40 elephant boxes in like a week and a half was pretty crazy.
Q What will your next project for Bon Fortune be?
A My CURRENT project for Bon Fortune are items for Valentine's Day. After that it will be for the theme Spring Extravaganza. I am working on party and birthday projects too.
Q What is your favorite place to travel?
A I'm not a big traveler, but a favorite thing for me is to drive up the coast to Napa and San Francisco. I love Northern California. When I get really brave, as I hate to fly, I would like to visit France and Italy.
Q What is your favorite time of year? What is your favorite thing to make for it?
A My favorite time of year is, by far, the Fall. I love everything about it. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love making vintage-looking decor that is a bit spooky, but not too scary. Spooky elegant. Glittery skulls, Jack-o’ lanterns, cats, bats, owls, the whole thing. I also love Thanksgiving, which sometimes is kind of skipped over. I love making autumn leaves, turkeys, and pumpkins. There is nothing like the fall color palette and all the delicious food at that time of year.
